How do I connect my website to a search console?
You verify that you own the site by pasting a code into your Omee website's settings. It's optional, free, and takes the same steps for each tool.
- Add your website in Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools or Yandex Webmaster.
- Choose the meta tag option and copy the verification code it gives you.
- In Omee, open your website's Settings and paste the code under search engine verification.
- Save, publish if needed, then return to the search tool and confirm verification.
What does each tool show you?
Google Search Console
See which Google searches show your website, how often guests click, and whether your pages are indexed.
Bing Webmaster Tools
See how your website performs on Bing, Microsoft's search engine, along with crawl and indexing information.
Yandex Webmaster
Useful if you welcome guests from countries where people search with Yandex.
The data comes from each search engine's own tool. Omee doesn't change or estimate it.
Does Omee tell search engines about my website?
Yes. Omee automatically submits published websites to IndexNow, so participating search engines, including Bing and Yandex, can discover new and changed pages quickly. Google doesn't take part in IndexNow, so verifying your site in Search Console and submitting your sitemap there is worthwhile.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to verify my website in these tools?
No. Verification is optional, and your website can still be found without it. Verifying gives you access to search data for your site in each tool, including the searches that show it and any indexing problems.
Where do I paste the verification code in Omee?
Open your website's Settings in Omee and find search engine verification. There is a field for Google, one for Bing and one for Yandex. Paste the code from the search tool, save it, then confirm the verification in that tool.
Does verifying my site improve my ranking?
No. Verification proves that you own the site and gives you access to its search data. It doesn't raise your position in the results, but the data can show you which searches to improve for and which problems to fix.
